Am 25.Mai besuchte ich DePrettoMoto in Caldogno, Italien.
Ich interessierte mich für den Space Air Filter (Teilemarkt-new Parts).
In vorangegangen Mails versicherte mir DPM, dass keinerlei Modifikationen/Vergaserabgleiche
durchzuführen seien wenn man den Air Filter montiert.
Das wollte ich genauer wissen.
Vorort versicherte mir der Mitarbeiter (dessen Englischkenntnisse miserabel
waren) erneut, es seien keinerlei Einstellungen nötig. Bei der Nachfrage nach
einem Techniker/Chef bekam ich als Antwort: Der Chef spricht kein Englisch
und arbeitet ausserdem im Moment an einem Motorrad. - Pech gehabt.
Eine Vorführung des Luftfilters (zerlegen und reingucken) fiel auch flach,
da der kompetente Mitarbeiter kein Werkzeug hatte (hatte ja der Chef, der
gerade am Motorrad arbeitete und kein Englisch spricht...).
Ich fragte also nochmals nach Einstellungen (bin halt ne Nervensäge)... Nach
einem Kontrollblick nach draussen zu meinem Auto bot mir der nette Herr an,
den Filter sofort zu montieren, sofern ich mein Motorrad da hätte (hat der
Sack gesehen dass ich mit´m Auto da bin, tsts...) und mir beweisen dass man
wirklich nix einstellen muss.
Nach diesem Spässle habe ich ihm dann vorgeschlagen das ich den Fiter kaufe
und zuhause montiere, stellt sich dennoch heraus, dass Abgleiche nötig wären
könnte ich ihn ja Umtauschen.
Die Antwort war nicht schlecht:
Alles was ich jetzt kaufe ist vom Umtausch ausgeschlossen (auch Materialfehler,
wie er mir bestätigte).
Jetzt habe ich auf

den Luftfilter noch mal gefunden und sogleich per Mail nachgefragt, was alles
an Umbau nötig ist.

Nachdem ich DPM mit der Antwort aus USA konfrontierte, sie als unseriöse
Firma bezeichnete und ankündigte, ihr Geschäftsgebaren zu veröffentlichen
bekam ich folgende Antwort (Originaltext!!):

Dear Mr. NORBERT HANS,
I’m the Boss of the DE PRETTO MOTO Company, and the direct creator-author
of the total range of parts (mabe 5000 pcs.) that we distribute, from a lot
of years, to thousand of customers all over the world.
I want personally answer to Your provocations like every time I did in my
life, even if it seems that the question level is very low. I think that,
after 23 years of activity in the motorcycle sector, and after I made happy
thousand of customers, it need other things to discredit a trade mark like
ours.
I feel that Your attack is directly addressed to offend my intelligence.
I want to make some precise statements:
1) Our Company isn’t never prostituted
to sell, but we prefer, like this case, lost the sale.
Therefore You can do polite objections for the quality and functionality of
our products, but only and when You will have the correct reasons to do it.
I remember You that, like European Comunity laws, our products are guaranteed
12 months for vices or production defects.
2) Our employee referred You that
You hadn’t to make some modifications for assembling the filter in the motorcycle
and this is correct because the article is been developed and planned by myself
and exclusively for the Honda VT 600 Shadow.
The group is showed in the motorcycle in our show room at the light of everybody.
You could see when You came for Your visit.
3) For this aspiration group, like
You have had some esplications, we choose a mixed system, and, precisely,
direct aspiration through a net and a labyrinth that reduce very well the
aspiration of the dirt and dust ( this is an our free choice and certainly
it isn’t a defect like You would want think). The group is just planned for
2 kinds of carburation radically different and realized to meet the various
climatic situations all over the world.
You have to make the simple modification that You can find in the instructions
inside.
I specify You that here in Italy from 1995 to this date we sold a lot of exemplars
of this specific article and I assure You that it isn’t necessary no drastic
modifications to the carburation.
The real thing is that the motorcycle obtain an appreciable increase of power.
This depend of the type of mufflers utilized, certainly it can’t be a miracle
product and like every aspiration group it need of little corrections acting
in the carburettor bolts.
These bolts are present in every carburettors like Yours because the constructors
previded that every motorcycle that is inclined to various climatic situations,
need an optimization in the carburation.
The fact that in USA the climate and the motorcycles are completely different
from european isn’t a novelty and you can have a confirm from every person
that know very well the 2 wheels world, so it’s for this reason that we gave
to our distributor PLANET CRUISER only the samplings to effect the tests of
carburation.
Precisely, in Germany, like You know, nearer to Italy respect of America,
we just sold various exemplars and they haven’t had problems because the climate
is very similar to Italy.
Concluding:
Since as You came in our shop with evident doubts in the reliability of our
products and of our trade mark, producing questions that confirm this intention,
I preferred, like my use in these cases, that our employee don’t force the
sale.
Until one has proof to the contrary, You decide to buy where You want and
we decide to sell who we want; this thing I think is extremely correct.
The thing that I think is not correct, is that You take the liberty of slander
the persons for nothing, with motivations without basis. On this subject consider
that, from this moment, every defamatory action towards DE PRETTO MOTO will
consider like an offence against my person.
I size the opportunity to give warning You in the production of every slander
and offensive document against our Company with electronic post.
I advise You that, from this moment, this document will be utilized against
You to proceed with a legal action.
